About this event

What to expect

PARTNER EVENT. Convened by the African Union Commission (AUC) with Member States, regional economic communities, technical institutions and development partners. The four-day Platform links political direction, country and regional readiness, implementation delivery labs, investment alignment and mutual accountability. The meeting takes place at Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre in Harare from 15-18 September 2026. The official information note covers accommodation, airport transfers, immigration, health, DSA, weather, currency, electricity and organizer contacts for AUC-sponsored and self-sponsored participants. Detailed session times remain subject to confirmation by the conveners.

Who will take part

A continental working platform

The convening brings together the African Union Commission with Member States, regional economic communities, technical institutions and development partners. Participants are either AUC-sponsored or self-sponsored, with different travel and accommodation arrangements.

Venue and accommodation

AUC-sponsored participants are booked at Rainbow Towers and must stay there for the meeting. Self-sponsored delegates should arrange and pay for their preferred accommodation.

Airport and daily transport

AUC-sponsored participants receive airport-to-hotel transfers on arrival and hotel-to-airport transfers on departure. Self-sponsored participants should arrange their own airport transfers and daily transport to and from the meeting venue.

Passport and visa

Travel with a passport valid for at least six months and at least two consecutive blank visa pages. Apply through a Zimbabwe embassy where available or the Zimbabwe e-visa portal. E-visa queries: evisazim@gmail.com.

AUC Protocol and the Government of Zimbabwe are preparing a Note Verbale to facilitate visa on arrival. Sponsored participants may claim visa costs with valid receipts.

Air tickets and DSA

Sponsored participants should notify the organizers immediately if unavoidable circumstances prevent travel, and at least 24 hours in advance when unable to travel, so tickets can be cancelled. DSA follows the sponsoring organization’s rules. Keep boarding passes and visa-fee receipts for submission.

Health requirements

A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers arriving from, or transiting through, yellow fever regions. Vaccination must be completed at least ten days before entry. Travellers without proof may be vaccinated at the airport clinic at their own cost.
